Hi friend, Is your first reaction when someone tells you something, "Yeah. They're probably right." Do you go along with what other people say? For example, awhile ago, someone told me that I was too nice, and that I needed to work on that. My immediate reaction was, "Yeah. I know. That’s not good.” But then I thought about it for a second. I don't want to keep accepting other people's opinions before I've taken the time to figure out what I actually think. Maybe it's true. Maybe I am too nice. Or maybe there's something useful in what they're noticing about me. Or maybe I honestly completely disagree. But I'll never know if I don't take the itme to consider it. Coach Jose 💛

Hi friend, We all have areas of growth and shit to work on. It’s easy to see someone else’s shit and think, Damn, they really need to work on that. And maybe they do. Some people aren’t there yet. Some people are actively working on themselves, and some people are avoiding their shit like it’s their full-time job. 😂 But...
Hi friend, One of the biggest “traps” of being a therapist—and honestly, this is probably true of a lot of jobs—is giving so much of yourself at work that there’s not enough left of you when you get home. As therapists, we spend our days listening, holding space, caring, problem-solving, empathizing, and showing up for people who need us. That’s meaningful work! But it can also be exhausting work. And sometimes, without even realizing it, we can start giving away so much of our emotional and...
Hi friend, I'm keeping the more personal sharing rolling this week! I wanted to share one of my favorite breakfasts with you. Growing up, my mom would consistently make me and my brother gallo pinto with a fried egg for breakfast. Child, it really is one of my favorite breakfasts. 😂 Some meals just feel like home, no matter how simple they are. The foods we ate in our childhood carry core memories of where we come from. They connect you to your culture and to the version of yourself that...
